Where does the next wave of growth actually come from?

The signal beyond the noise.
01 // The signal
Independent strategic advisory for consumer businesses facing consequential decisions.
02 // The problem
Business gets complicated.
More data. More opinions. More priorities. More people telling you what matters.
Usually, only a few things really do.
The hard part is no longer finding information. It is deciding which of it deserves a decision.
Starman works with CEOs, founders and leadership teams when the next move isn't obvious.
Why has a brand that used to move stopped moving?
Is the proposition still relevant, or just familiar?
Are we solving the right problem, or the one we can measure?

03 // What we do
Find what matters. Decide what to do about it.
Four territories. Most engagements start in one and end up touching two.
Proposition. Positioning. Relevance. Understanding why consumers choose you, and why they stop. Ends with a clear articulation of what the brand is for, and what has to change for it to be believed again.
The next chapter. Where to play. How to win. New markets, new categories, new occasions, and the choices that come with them. Ends with a small number of prioritised moves and the case for each.
When the strategy, the organisation or the operating model has to change to unlock what comes next. Including how technology and AI genuinely change the work, rather than how they are described in a board deck. Ends with a sequence, an owner for each part, and a realistic view of what it costs to get there.
Independent judgment on difficult decisions, leadership questions, and the moments when another experienced perspective is worth more than another analysis. Ongoing, confidential, and deliberately outside the reporting line.
04 // How we work
Outside. Inside. Then underneath.
We start with the world as it is. Consumers, culture, competitors, category, perception. What is actually happening in the market, not what the last tracker said.
Then the business. Performance, strategy, organisation, capability. And, just as importantly, what leadership believes is happening, because the gap between those two things is usually where the answer is hiding.
We put the two together. Separate symptoms from causes. Discard what is noisy, real, and irrelevant. What survives is the short list of things that actually explain the situation.

Most companies already hold the answer somewhere in the building. It is usually spread across four functions and three slide decks, and nobody has put it in one place.
That's the signal.
05 // Experience
Nearly 25 years. From the inside.
Nearly 25 years helping build one of the world's most iconic consumer brands.
Marketing and brand building. International growth. Business leadership. Organisational transformation. Enterprise strategy.
Roles held in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Businesses run, not advised from a distance.
You are not buying a framework. You are buying someone who has already made this decision, with real money and real consequences, and remembers what it cost.
06 // The model
Senior by design.
Starman stays close to the problem.
No consulting pyramid. No large junior team learning your business at your expense. The person who diagnoses the problem is the person who stays through the decision.
When a problem needs capability beyond ours, we bring in the right people. Experienced operators, specialists and independent thinkers, selected for the problem at hand rather than pulled from a bench that has to be kept busy.
The team fits the problem.
Not the other way around.
Engagement shape
Most work starts the same way. A short, defined first piece: a few weeks, a fixed scope, a clear question. Enough to establish whether there is something real here and whether we are the right people to work on it.
What follows depends on what that finds.

We also back the work.
Starman & Partners is the advisory practice. Stargaze Ventures is where we take positions.
An early-stage investment and operating platform, co-founded and run alongside the firm, working with founders in consumer and functional brands. Some as investors. Some as operators. Usually both.
It keeps us close to what is actually being built, not only to what is being reported.

Some problems need more data.
Others need more clarity.
